The class of 2012 (from l to r): Audrey Zak, Kristen Ward, head coach Luis Nicolao and Katlin Poladian.

A quick Hartwick offensive surge was not enough, as the No. 14 Princeton women's water polo team employed a second half rally to drop the No. 20 Hawks 13-10. The win lifted the Tigers (22-4, 5-0 Southern) to a perfect 10-0 record at home.

Hartwick jumped out with a 3-1 lead in the first quarter, as the Hawks were able to move the ball around with fluidity and frustrate the Tigers. With 1:09 remaining in the first, Hartwick had the ball two feet in front of goalie Kristen Ward, but the senior managed to block the shot to begin to swing the game momentum to Princeton's side. The Tigers managed to find more looks on goal in the second quarter, as they outscored the Hawks 5-4.

Down 7-6 at halftime, Princeton picked up its play on all ends of the pool. As the offense worked to overcome its first half deficit, the defense prevented the Hawks from controlling the scoreboard over the final two quarters of play. In the third quarter, Saranna Soroka scored a pair of goals to open the period and Katie Rigler added two of her own, as Princeton took control of the game 10-9.

Hartwick evened the score a minute-and-a-half into the fourth quarter, but the Tigers responded with three unanswered goals to conclude the game.

In goal, Ward had nine saves and senior Katlin Poladian made a save in fourth quarter action. Princeton made eight steals, with freshmen Jessie Holechek and Camille Hooks leading the way with two apiece.

The offense was led by Rigler's four goals, while Kelly Gross, Soroka and Audrey Zak had two each. Gross, Molly McBee and Zak also added a pair of assists.

Princeton heads next to the Southern Championships from April 13-15 in Lewisburg, Pa.
