Tiger Foursome Set for World Fencing Championships in Hungary

The world's top fencers will gather this week at the Senior World Championships in Budapest, Hungary and four Princetonians will be among the competitors.

The group includes three alumni, with Eliza Stone '13, Soren Thompson '05 and Maya Lawrence '02, and one current fencer, rising junior Katharine Holmes. The four will represent the U.S. contingent in the team competitions of their respective weapons.

Beginning Wednesday, the event will be video streamed via Youtube here.

Monday, Aug. 5
Women's individual epee qualification rounds (Lawrence, Holmes)
Tuesday, Aug. 6
Women's individual saber qualification rounds (Stone)
Men's individual epee qualification rounds (Thompson)
Thursday, Aug. 8
Men's epee bracket rounds (Thompson)
Women's epee bracket rounds (Lawrence, Holmes)
Friday, Aug. 9
Women's saber bracket rounds (Stone)
Sunday, Aug. 11
Women's team epee (Lawrence, Holmes)
Men's team epee (Thompson)
Monday, Aug. 12
Women's team saber (Stone)

The event's results Web site can be found here. Princeton's official athletic Twitter feed, @PUTIGERS, will post updates after each day in which a Tiger fencer competes, and GoPrincetonTigers.com will have a wrap-up when the championships are complete.
