PRINCETON, N.J. (4/8/13) - Two former Princeton men's hockey players are moving on in their professional hockey careers as Marc Hagel '12 and Mike Condon '13 join American Hockey League teams.

Marc Hagel '12 has signed an amateur try-out agreement with the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL), an affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche.  Hagel spent this past season at Miami University as a graduate student and a member of the Red Hawks.

Hagel suited up for his first game on April 3 as Lake Erie defeated the Toronto Marlies 3-2 in OT.

This Friday, April 9, Lake Erie will visit the Hamilton Bulldogs, setting up battle between brothers, as Kyle Hagel '08 has been with the Bulldogs all season. This would be the first time the brothers have played against each other, and it in their hometown of Hamilton. (Click here to read an article in the Hamilton paper).

At Princeton, Marc Hagel played in 92 career games and had 17 goals and 17 assists. He missed the 2010-11 season with an injury, which eventually would lead to his final year of eligibility at Miami. In his senior year at team captain, Hagel played in all 32 games and scored seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points. At Miami, Hagel played in all 42 games and had six goals and 13 assists. The Redhawks' season ended against St. Cloud State in the Midwest Regional Final.

Mike Condon '13 was signed to a professional tryout agreement with the Houston Aeros (AHL), the Minnesota Wild affiliate.

Condon dressed in his first game on Sunday, April 7 when incidentally the team hosted Hamilton. Houston won the game 2-0. Houston will not face Lake Erie during the regular season.

After Princeton's season concluded Condon signed an ATO with the Ontario Reign, where he played four games.

At Princeton, Condon played in 48 career games and posted an 18-22-8 record. He capped his career with a .923 save percentage and a 2.67 goals against average. During his senior year, he made 22 starts and finished with a .923 save percentage and a 2.48 GAA. He made 30 or more saves in seven games and was named the ECAC Goalie of the Week on Feb. 12 after a sweep of Cornell and Colgate on the road, making a season-high 39 saves against the Big Red.
