On the third of six home dates this season, Princeton will host Villanova Tuesday for a single game at 4 p.m.

The Princeton softball team will host Villanova Tuesday in the first of two non-league contests this season at the Class of 1895 Field. The single-game afternoon will start at 4 p.m.

• Villanova is the third of four Big East opponents for Princeton this regular season, following Seton Hall and Georgetown and before Princeton faces Rutgers next week.

• Princeton's 17-9 record is its best through 26 games since the Tigers were also 17-9 in 2006.

• Princeton's 3-1 record through four Ivy games is its best since starting 4-0 in 2008.

• Senior Alex Peyton hasn't allowed an earned run in 22 1/3 innings.

• When the Tigers resume Ivy play this weekend at Harvard and Dartmouth, Princeton and Penn will co-lead the Ivy South division at 3-1, one game ahead of Cornell (2-2) and two in front of Columbia (3-1) with 16 games to play.
