PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women’s water polo team recently added to its growing list of postseason accolades with Katie Rigler, Molly McBee and Ashleigh Johnson each garnering ACWPC honorable mention All-America recognition.

The team’s recipient of the Friends of Princeton Water Polo Tiger Award, McBee makes her first appearance on the All-America squad. The Tiger Award is presented annually to the individual who contributed most in play, sportsmanship and dedication to the water polo program.

A three-time CWPA Player of the Year, Rigler picked up her fourth-consecutive honorable mention All-America selection, while Johnson earned an honorable mention nod after receiving praise on the third team last season.

Piecing together another stellar year, McBee led Princeton in steals (39) and blocks (10), while ranking second on the squad in assists (36) and third in goals (49). Recording a career-high .510 shot percentage, the senior co-captain drew 30 ejections.

Making 126 appearances over her four years, McBee wraps up her career ranked third on the program charts in assists (94) and eighth in goals (151). Also collecting 153 steals, the three-time All-Southern honoree led the team in blocks in three of her four years, amassing 33 during her tenure in Orange & Black.

One of the Tigers’ most prolific scorers, Rigler led the team in goals in each of her four seasons. Tallying 67 scores in 2014, the co-captain also dished out 30 assists, while picking up 33 steals and going 47-23 on sprints. With 265 goals and 72 helpers, Rigler sits third and seventh, respectively, on Princeton’s career charts.

While playing alongside McBee, Rigler has helped the Tigers put together one of the most impressive stretches in program history. Guiding the squad to three-straight Southern Championships and a pair of Eastern titles, the senior duo are part of the winningest class in school history with 106 victories.

Posting a .809 winning percentage (106-25) during that span, the Tigers advanced to the NCAA Championships in 2012 and 2013, while posting a program-record 31 wins this past season.

Starting 61 of her 62 career appearances, Johnson built on a strong rookie campaign with an equally impressive sophomore sesaon. Logging 885:35 minutes in net, she posted a 28-2 record with a .704 save percentage, 43 steals and seven assists. Bursting onto the scene as a freshman in 2013, she played 953:49 minutes, going 28-6 in 32 starts with a .668 save percentage, 22 assists and 47 steals.
