Ivy-undefeated Harvard will make a visit to the Class of 1895 Field Thursday at 2 p.m. for a pivotal doubleheader at the midpoint of the league schedule.

The teams will effectively play a game and a half, as their March 29 twinbill was postponed midway through the first game. Princeton and Harvard were tied 0-0 midway through the fourth inning when rain nixed the rest of the afternoon.

Though the first-weekend weather had a major effect on the Ivy schedule, the divisional pictures are starting to clear. In the Ivy South, all four teams are in it. In the Ivy North, it's already a two-team race between Dartmouth and Harvard.

Penn currently leads the Ivy South at 7-4, a half-game better than Princeton at 6-4. Cornell is just a game and a half back at 5-5, with Columbia at 5-7 and two and a half back. Every team in the division has between eight and 10 games to go, with Princeton and Cornell needing to make up a doubleheader against Harvard and Penn having to finish one suspended game against the Crimson.

In the Ivy North, Dartmouth is 12-0 and Harvard is 7-0 with the five games against Princeton, Cornell and Penn to make up. Yale, at 1-11, and Brown, at 0-12, have fallen out of the division race.

Princeton holds a 40-23 all-time advantage over Harvard. The teams have played a regular-season doubleheader annually since 1985, and Princeton swept the first 12 twinbills as part of winning the first 27 games of the series. From 1997 forward, Princeton's only doubleheader sweep of Harvard came in 2008, a season that also saw Princeton take the Ivy League Championship Series from Harvard 2-0.

Princeton graduated both its starting pitchers from last season's twinbill against the Crimson, but Shanna Christian got off to a good start in the suspended game this season with four shutout innings. The Tigers graduated five players who made a start against Harvard last season.

Among Tiger notes, junior Rachel Rendina enters the week with a four-game hit streak after going 6 for 16 (.375) in the series against Columbia. Classmate Cara Worden enters on a five-game hit streak and went 6 for 15 (.400) with two doubles and two home runs between the Rutgers game last Wednesday and the Columbia series. On the pitching staff, freshman Erica Nori has a win in each of her last four appearances to boost her record to 7-5 on the season and lower her ERA to 1.90.

After the Harvard games, Princeton will host Penn Saturday and Sunday for four games to continue the Ivy South schedule.
