PRINCETON (1/13/14) -- For the third straight week a Princeton women’s basketball player has collected Ivy League weekly honors with junior Blake Dietrick earning Player of the Week for the third time this year and of her career, it was announced Monday.
Point guard Dietrick is coming off her first career double-double performance where she finished with 16 points, second-best in the game, and a career and game-high 10 rebounds to help guide Princeton to an 84-53 win over Penn to open Ivy play.
She went 6-for-9 from the field, including 4-of-5 from three-point, and added two assists and a steal. Even more impressive, Dietrick did not commit a turnover over 38 minutes of work.
Dietrick is averaging 15.4 points, a team-high, 4.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game over 15 starts. She has scored in double figures in 12 games this year, including the last seven consecutive.
The Tigers (10-5, 1-0 Ivy) will now take a break in play for first semester final exams before resuming action with Harvard (Jan. 31) and Dartmouth (Feb. 1) at home.
