PRINCETON, N.J. (9/25/13) - The Princeton men's soccer team welcomes returning to Myslik Field at Robert Stadium, after playing four of its first five games on the road. The Tigers will host a pair of Florida opponents this weekend, first taking on Florida International on Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.

The Tigers are 1-4 on the season, with their lone win coming against Seton Hall on Sept. 15 at home. Princeton is coming off of one-goal losses to undefeated Loyola and No. 16 Georgetown. Four of the team’s results have been decided by one goal. Sophomore Nico Hurtado and Thomas Sanner are the team’s leading scorers. Each has two goals and one assist. Junior Cameron Porter and freshman Bryan Windsor have one goal apiece. Sophomore Brendan McSherry and seniors Patrick O’Neil and Chris Benedict have one assist each. Senior Seth MacMillan has played all 450 minutes in goal and has a 2.20 goals against average and a .542 save percentage, making 12 stops on 23 shots.

Florida International makes it’s second cross country trip of the season as it heads to the Northeast. The team began the season in California, facing Loyola Marymount and San Diego State (a team/site Princeton played in 2009). The Panthers are 3-4 overall and are coming off of a 2-0 win over Jacksonville. FIU returns all four players that were in double digits in scoring from last year’s 8-8-2 squad. This is the team’s first trip to the Northeast since 2007 when it played in the UConn Classic. FIU averages 2.00 goals per game and 13.3 shots per game. and allows similar numbers at 1.86 gpg and 12.0 spg. The team has 23 yellow cards in seven games, seven more than its opponents. Roberto Alterio has a team-high four goals, while Quentin Albrecht has two goals and two assist. Daniel Gonzalez and Gonzalo Frechilla both have five points, with Frechilla collecting a team-best three assists. Seven other Panthers have one point or more. FIU has experimented with three different keepers with Lawrence Craggs getting the most time. He has a 2.20 GAA and a .577 in five games. Daniel Mion earned the starting nod in the last game and made five saves on five shots. Robin Spiegel made three saves on five shots in his one game.
