Princeton basketball alumnus Larry Lucchino '67 will be inducted into the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame, the organization announced Tuesday.

The induction will take place Nov. 2 in Schiller Park, Ill. Lucchino will be joined by hockey player Eddie Olczyk, baseball player Johnny Antonelli, football player Hank Lauricella, baseball umpire Steve Palermo, and boxing trainer Cus D'Amato.

At Princeton, Lucchino was a part of two Ivy League championship teams in 1965 and 1967, the NCAA Final Four team in 1965, and the 1967 team that ended the season ranked No. 5 in the Associated Press poll after defeating No. 3 North Carolina that January and losing in overtime to the Tar Heels, again ranked third in the nation, in the NCAA Round of 16.

After Princeton, Lucchino went into the law profession and eventually became President and CEO of the Baltimore Orioles, the San Diego Padres and now the Boston Red Sox, who have won two World Series titles under his watch and enter the 2013 season's final week with the best record in Major League Baseball.
