The Princeton sprint football team returns home to host Post
on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at Princeton Stadium. This week's meeting features
a Tiger squad still looking for their first win of the year at 0-3, despite
coming close on two occasions already. One team will bounce into the
win column following Friday's matchup, as the Eagles also carry a winless
record at 0-2.
In its last game on the road at Cornell on Sept. 28, a
second half rally fell short in Princeton's 22-15 loss in Ithaca, N.Y.
Quarterback Joe Bush threw from 148 yards and had a pair of touchdowns to John
Wolfe and Nicolas Lulli, in addition to converting a two-point conversion to
Wolfe. Defensively, Nick Barnett had a sack, 5.5 tackles and forced a fumble.
Post remains on the road this weekend, having played its
first two contests at Army and Navy. The Eagles are coming off a 37-14 loss on
Sept. 28 to the Midshipmen. Daniel Awwad and Jay'Len Mahan lead the receivers
with a pair of touchdowns apiece, as the Eagles have scored all six of their
touchdowns this year in the air. The passing game has employed five different
quarterbacks, with Dwayne Carter taking the majority of snaps. He's 20-for-36,
with four touchdowns and an interception.
The Tigers will wrap up the home slate on Friday, Oct. 12
with Franklin Pierce at 7 p.m., before closing put the year at Army (Oct. 20) and
Penn (Nov. 2).
