Men's Squash Welcomes Four Freshmen For 2012-13 Season

The reigning Ivy League and CSA national champion Princeton men's squash team has some big shoes to fill, after four seniors graduated from the 2012 championship squad. Head coach Bob Callahan has brought in four freshmen who he hopes can help fill that void.

The Princeton Class of 2016, which is on campus now and getting ready for the official start of preseason later this month, is comprised of Nick Barton, Vivek Dinodia, Sam Ezratty and Michael LeBlanc.

Nick Barton

Before Princeton — competed for the Bermuda Junior National Team … competed at the 2011 Canadian Junior Open … also played for the Bermuda Squash Racquets Association … coached by Andrew Mount … competed in both swimming and track & field in school; also competed in soccer and field hockey outside of school … helped field hockey team to 2011 men’s Knockout Cup title … served as Head Prefect and chairman of the student council  … earned Headmaster’s Award for GCSE results and AP results … recipient of award/scholarship for contribution to school life.

Personal — born Jan. 15, 1994 … son of Stephen and Beverley Barton … father works in information technology; mother works in corporate management … cousin Michael Shrubb won several Bermuda and Caribbean age group squash championships … interested in astronomy … enjoys reading and playing soccer … may study an aspect of engineering at Princeton.

Vivek Dinodia

Before Princeton — reached the No. 2 ranking in India for U-15s; reached Top 4 in both U-17 and U-19 … placed second in U-15 Junior National Championship competition; made semifinals at both U-17 and U-19 levels … ranked No. 1 in West Bengal at U-15, U-17, U-19 and men’s; reached Top-8 ranking among senior men’s players … was a member of both the U-15 and U-19 teams in India … represented India at the 2nd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships; also played for India in the Men’s World Junior Individual Squash Championships … played for the West Bengal (State) U-15, U-19 and men’s teams … served as team captain on several teams … also competed in table tennis, soccer and track & field … member of the student government as a House and School Prefect.

Personal — born Dec. 16, 1993 … son of Vikash Agrawal and Sangita Agrawal … father is a businessman; mother is a homemaker … enjoys magic, playing soccer and playing table tennis … may study Economics at Princeton.

Sam Ezratty

Before Princeton — earned his best ranking of No. 2 at the U-17 level during his junior year at the Hackley School … won a Junior Championship Tour event in Cambridge … led the Hackley School to Division 3 Nationals as a senior … coached by Rodney Martin … named team MVP as a senior … also lettered in tennis … received scholar-athlete honor in squash … earned AP Scholar with Distinction … graduated with honors in both math and science.

Personal — born May 1, 1994 … son of Ari and Caroline Ezratty … both parents are physicians … has an older sister Charlotte, a younger sister Isabelle and a younger brother William … enjoys building web sites and watching tennis … may study biological engineering at Princeton.

Michael LeBlanc

Before Princeton — reached a No. 10 national ranking at the U-19 level … placed in Top 10 at the 2012 U.S. Nationals … finished second in the second flight of the New England tournament … led the Westminster School to a second-place finish in New England and an eighth-place finish at nationals; team also won the Founder’s League for the first time … coached in high school by Peter Doucette; personal coach was Supreet Singh … served as team captain senior season … lettered two years in lacrosse … lacrosse team won two league titles … AP Scholar with Distinction … graduated Summa Cum Laude … four year Scholar-Athlete honoree … Squibb Bowl winner and Squash Most Improved Player.

Personal — born Dec. 31, 1993 … son of Peter and Julie LeBlanc … father owns a commercial construction company; mother is a homemaker … has two younger sisters, Julie Dee and Abby … enjoys golf, skiing and sailing … may study molecular biology and economics at Princeton.
