The 2011-12 Princeton women's basketball team elevated the
status of the up-and-coming program to new heights this season. Not only did
they win the Ivy League Championship for the third consecutive season, a
program first, but the Tigers made their mark on the national stage. Princeton
was the first-ever Ivy women's team to earn a national ranking, finishing the
year at No. 24 in the AP Poll. They also were the highest seeded Ivy team at
No. 9 in the NCAA Tournament. In addition, Lauren Edwards was named a Lowe's
Senior CLASS Award Second Team All-American and junior Niveen Rasheed earned
First Team All-American honors from Full Court.
While one goal still eludes the program - a win in the NCAA
Tournament - the 2011-12 campaign was one chalk full of milestones and
accomplishments.
