Jack McBride and Mark Kovler have been named as two of the 21 nominees for the Tewaaraton Trophy, given annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation in conjunction with the University Athletic Club of Washington, D.C., to the top player in men's and women's college lacrosse.
The list of 21 nominees, announced today, will be shortened to a list of five finalists before the winner is announced at a banquet on May 28. The award has been presented since 2001.
McBride, a sophomore on attack, currently leads Princeton with 27 goals and is tied for the team lead with 33 points. Kovler, a senior midfielder, has 22 goals and six assists for 28 points this season; he also has exactly 100 for his career.
