COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Princeton ended its five-game stay at Maryland's tournament with a 9-3 loss to Towson after giving up a four-run fourth inning that broke the game open.
Towson's (6-3) lead was 4-3 after two innings. Kelsey Quist had a two-run double in the first, and Jamie Lettire had an RBI single in the second for Princeton's three runs.
Liza Kuhn picked up her first loss of the season in the circle despite earning only two of the five runs she allowed as Princeton (1-4) had three errors on the game.
Towson picked up another run in the third before the big fourth inning off Lettire that made the 9-3 final. At the plate, Lettire and Nicole Ontiveros led Princeton with two hits apiece.
The Tigers will head to California for a 13-game, nine-day spring break trip.
