The Princeton wrestling team capped its best weekend in decades by defeating Sacred Heart 33-9 Sunday afternoon in Fairfield, Conn. The win is Princeton's fourth straight; the last time a Tiger wrestling team won four straight matches over Division I competition was in 1989.

Another strong match by Princeton's lowerweights got the match off on the right foot for the Tigers, who improved to 8-8 on the season with the 4-0 weekend. After a forfeit victory by freshman Garrett Frey at 125, a pair of his classmates recorded pins to open an 18-0 lead. Zach Bintliff recorded a pin in the first period of his match at 133, while Luis Ramos recorded a fall with only 14 seconds remaining in the second period of his match at 141.

Sophomore Daniel Kolodzik earned a 5-1 decision at 149, and senior Danny Scotton followed his sudden victory thriller at Brown with an 8-6 win over Anthony Priore at 157.

After a one-point loss at 165 from senior Mike Alvarez, one of the heroes of the Harvard victory, Princeton got back with back-to-back wins to clinch the match. Junior Travis Erdman earned a 6-2 decision at 165 to complete a perfect weekend, while Kurt Brendel needed only 58 seconds to pin Sam Sheppard at 184. Freshmen Charles Fox and Bobby Grogan both lost by decision at 197 and heavyweight to finish the scoring at 33-9.

Princeton's final four regular season matches will all be at home, beginning next weekend with matches against both Columbia (1) and Cornell (6). Princeton will enter the weekend with a share of the lead in the Ivy League; both the Tigers and the Penn Quakers have 2-0 records in Ivy play.
